DSAR Redaction
The Public’s knowledge of their Data Protection Rights and, in particular, Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) grew exponentially in May 2018, when the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force. Evidence suggests that over half of all UK businesses are experiencing increases in the costs relating to responding to DSARs, with the Redaction of DSAR material being a major portion of these costs.
To allow businesses to manage costs and to minimize the impact of DSARs on available resources, Privacy Helper offers a DSAR Redaction service as an option to add to the DPO Service. Based on expected DSAR volumes and effort required, DPO Service customers can purchase additional time each month which can be allocated at any time over the following 15 months to DSAR Redaction Projects.
Example:
A business receives around half a dozen DSARs each year, on average each one requires four hours of Redaction. The business buys an extra two hours per month which an experienced Privacy Helper Consultant uses to Redact DSAR material, thus the 24 hours required is purchased over each 12-month period. Time purchased is valid for 12 months, additional time can be purchased at the same rate if required for larger, complex, one-off DSARs.
For each DSAR, Privacy Helper will within the time purchased:
- Arrange a scoping call to understand the scale and complexity of the DSAR
- Commit to timelines
- Agree the parameters of the Redaction
- Provide secure transfer mechanisms for receiving and returning documents
- Deliver the Redacted DSAR material in irreversible PDF format
- Advise and support on any matters and issues
The service is billed at £150 + VAT per hour depending on the level of support you choose.
